Patricia Egen is President and owner of Patricia Egen Consulting with over 30 years in IT including project management, research, design and strategic planning with specialization in CRM, marketing, JAD design, networking, social media, data communications, Microsoft Office, Access and Lotus Notes and Domino Application development and training.Key Skillsets: Project Management, Training, Analysis, Application Development,Project experiencePatricia started her business in 1998. There are currently 4 people in her organization. She is a Sage ACT Certified Consultant, Premier Trainer and Platinum Sage Reseller. She is a Lotus certified developer. Pat is on the Sage ACT Business Product Advisory Council and is actively engaged with Sage development and management. Pat has been working with ACT for 25 years, first as an end-user of the product and then as a consultant since 2003.
One of Pat's primary skills is the ability to ask pertinent questions then listen and gather sufficient information to develop quality business solutions for her customers. She has a broad awareness of the industry and can draw upon her own and other resources to find the right solution for the job.
Pat is very active in social media and has a popular blog and Twitter following. She has taken that expertise and is now developing a new division within her organization to help her clients build and develop social media strategies.
The customer base of Patricia Egen Consulting is very broad from one person organizations up to large multi-national corporations. Pat is comfortable in a corporate board room or on the deck of a sole proprietor who works from home. Working with ACT for the past 14 years has led to a good understanding of the sales role and in particular the sales person mentality. This has proven valuable when trying to develop consensus within what could be potentially a volatile situation.

Past Experience
Prior to forming her own company, Pat was an Assistant Vice President for Provident Companies in Chattanooga, TN.
Key projects and accomplishments:
Pat was responsible for IT strategic direction and research.
She was instrumental in developing a custom built project management methodology and life cycle.
She was responsible for application change management and implementation.
She led a team that implemented a million dollar sales force automation project in 60 field offices, coming in under budget and on time.
She developed several research and analysis reports and developed strategies for electronic mail, personal computing, data warehousing and replacement of an antiquated policy print process.
Her recommendation for one department's policy print replacement was so well received, it was chosen to be the corporate standard.
In addition, corporate management was so pleased with her documentation that they requested her analysis documents be given to all departments for use as models of how the documents should be developed and implemented
As a Senior Consultant for Technology Solutions Company of Chicago, Pat developed Lotus Notes databases for the internal infrastructure as well as for customer organizations. One of her major objectives was to expand the Lotus Notes practice area at TSC so that the organization can provide greater expertise to the client base. She was involved with a customer project for implementation of a world-wide help desk organization. Her role was JAD leader, implementation specialist (including project plan, roll-out) and training (both end-user and IS). Pat was resident expert at TSC on LAN and Host-based Office Information Systems (electronic mail, calendaring and scheduling, workgroup applications, etc). In addition, Pat provided research expertise on EDI and Electronic Commerce.
As a Consultant for Ryder Truck Rental in Miami, Fl. she managed Office Information Systems providing strategic directions on electronic mail and electronic commerce, workgroup computing (Lotus Notes), enterprise calendaring and scheduling, executive automation, business intelligence systems (formerly called EIS), wireless communications and hardware consisting of palmtops and cellular and wireless modems. Key projects and accomplishments included:
Strategist responsible for Office Information Systems (OIS) current and evolving technologies including electronic commerce (messaging, EDI, videoconferencing), wireless communications, workgroup and workflow applications, document management and Business Intelligence Systems (formerly called EIS). Mission initiative to actively research, design, test, pilot and recommend OIS strategic opportunities for the corporation. Key objectives included developing in-depth understanding of client/server, WAN, the Internet and TCP/IP.
Project Leader responsible for Office Information Systems, including corporate electronic mail systems (management, installation, implementation, upgrades, administration, training, chargeback and strategic planning), executive automation systems, workgroup computing lan-based electronic mail and calendaring, X400 backbones, messaging API's, and electronic forms.
Responsible for VAN connectivity including external electronic mail, EDI, fax capabilities. Implemented over 53 external partnerships with business trading partners and customers. Implemented EDI partnerships for Move Management Department.
Co-project leader for implementation and rollout of OfficeVision/400 on 80 branch AS400s.
Researched and recommended Executive Automation strategy including hardware (palmtops and wireless modems) software (PIMs, electronic mail, fax capabilities, etc) and remote access.
Researched and designed a 3-year migration plan from host-based to LAN-based OIS platforms.
Responsible for Lotus Notes introduction, rollout, development and training (including implementation procedures, project plan, development of training programming, database development, research and design, development of adminstration procedures)
As a Sr. Analyst for Ryder Truck, she was responsible for implementation, installation, administration and support of a corporate-wide PROFS system. Key accomplishments were:
Responsible for implementation, installation, administration and support of a corporate-wide electronic mail system (over 8000 clients).
Developed and administered a department "key contact" group.
Responsible for all Local Area Network design, implementation, recommendation and ongoing technical support within the Corporate Holding Company. Successfully implemented 4 LAN's comprising over 250 PC's. Provided second level technical support to Help Desk group.
As a Programmer/Analyst for Ryder Truck, she held a dual function of programmer analyst supporting Corporate Tax Workpaper system, Corporate Accounting Stock system and Telephone Billing; and Office Automation support. Provided Office Automation (OA) support for PC hardware and software for headquarters. Recommended hardware/software solutions. Developed and directed help desk function. Researched and recommended new PC products
As an Operations Supervisor for Ryder Truck she supervised a 4381 shop, consisting of two shifts. Responsible for operation; monitoring systems; management of hardware changes. Implemented upgrade from 4341 to 4381. Maintained vendor relationships. Developed, implemented and tested disaster recovery system. Monitored capacity and performance and made recommendations on improvements.
Education and Other Activities:
Mrs. Egen received her Bachelor of Administration degree with a double major in Management Information Systems and Personnel Management from Florida International University and her Associate of Science degree in Data Processing from Miami Dade Community College She also has done graduate work in Computer Science at the University of Miami and has a Certificate in Telecommunications from the University of Miami.
She is a member of the Chattanooga Hamilton Place Rotary Club.
She is a member of the Sage ACT Product Advisory Council.
She founded the Calconnect.org consortium to develop and foster calendaring and scheduling standards.
She is a former Director of Volunteer Resources on the Board of Directors for the SHARE Users group.
She is a former President of the local chapter of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners).
