What We Say

Act, Quotewerks and Quickbooks - Match made in heaven

The current crisis forcing many companies to work remotely has made companies look at alternatives for doing business.  We have gotten dozens of calls on how to set up CRM access, and how to manage quoting.  For many customers, this has caused them to take a really hard look at their current quoting process, especially if it's Excel or Word documents.  What worked in the past is no longer working. The crisis is making them finally look into more automated or improved processes.

Warm Calls - Now more than ever

Back in 2018 I blogged about warm calls. Reese, one of my long time customers, and now dear friend, called me recently to check in on us.  That's how he is.  You can always count on a fun call that lifts your spirits.  While we were chatting he said it's time for another one of the Reese's Southern Wisdom blog posts.  And since he is quite fond of talking about the power of making warm calls - not selling - just checking in - he felt now more than ever this is a vital and

Sales Process? What sales Process?

Many of you know we are a computer consulting practice. We also do process improvement (on a small scale) and give advice on sales processes (again on a small scale). We do not in any way claim to be experts in selling. We are however pretty knowledgeable about what sales people will or will not do when it comes to using technology in their daily life. Boy are we experts. We have heard every single moan, groan, complaint, lament there is to why someone should not need to use a CRM or tool in

Using warm calls to keep in front of clients

This month we're doing another of our Reese's Southern Wisdom blog posts. The timing is actually perfect.  August is a favorite month for travel, family vacations and just getting out of town. For people, that's a good thing. For sales, not so much. With customers not picking up the phone to call for sales or services, a business needs to find a way to bring in revenues during a slow period. Many people are quick to send out email blasts, trusting their computers to do the work of

CRM is not rocket science

While working with a client recently I described the basic underlying strategy for a CRM (customer relationship management) process.  He had chatted with several different companies and he remarked that he got paragraph after paragraph of descriptions. However, he said mine was the simplest and one that he felt he could repeat to his sales staff. These were powerful words to me and reinforced what I have felt is a really simple message. Set up a process, implement it, do it every day,

Q2C - Quote to Cash - What it means for SMBs

Recently I posted a Youtube video about the integration of Act! and Quotewerks. I'm including a link to it below. After I sent out a Tweet about the video I got back quite a few interesting comments but one in particular inspired this blog post. This follower liked the video and said that the Act! and Quotewerks integration was a perfect Q2C or Quote to Cash software application. To be honest, I had never heard of that acronym so I went and, of course, Googled it. Don't you think Google needs

Quotewerks Tip of the Week - Exporting Quotes to Excel

We're starting Quotewerks Tip of the Week blog posts and today's is about a trick a lot of people may not realize exists. Quotewerks has so much power it's easy to not know every single feature or nuance. A client wanted to be able to export Quotes to Excel so they could import them into their Accounting system. No problem. When in a quote, click on Tools - Export to Microsoft Excel. You can then pick which fields to pull into Excel. I chose them all just in case. Here's a couple of images of
